A practical example of a residential solar energy storage battery system can be seen in this customer installation. The system is designed for daily energy management and backup power.
It features two Menred LFP.6144.W battery units. These modular batteries use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry, which is recognized for its operational safety and long cycle life. Connected in parallel, they provide a total energy capacity of approximately 12.3 kWh.
These batteries are integrated with a 6kW Deye hybrid inverter. The inverter’s role is to manage the flow of energy between the solar panels, the batteries, and the home’s electrical loads. It directs excess solar power to charge the batteries during the day. The stored energy is then used to power the home at night or can serve as a crucial power source during a grid outage.
This configuration demonstrates a functional and scalable approach for a household to achieve greater energy self-sufficiency by using a complete solar energy storage battery system.
